Olive leaf extract is a supplement that is derived from the olive leaf, which contains bioactive compounds that provide a health and wellness tonic that has many researched health benefits. The extract contains a wide variety of compounds which work synergistically to deliver a multitude of therapeutic actions.
Olive leaf extract is a rich source of phenolic compounds and oleuropein which is well-known regarding its antioxidant and antimicrobial attributes. However, the mentioned phenolic compounds will lose their beneficial properties during storage and induce undesirable aftertaste in food products. In this project, after producing nanoliposomes containing olive leaf extract and performing all physicochemical, microbial, clinical and cellular tests, the final product will be commercially available to consumers in the form of tablets, capsules or syrups.
